Summer in the Napa Valley

Of course there are many wineries to visit in the Napa Valley all year round, but there is only so much wine you can taste before you are ready for something more. Summertime in the Napa Valley can be a wonderful time to experience small town life at its finest. If you are looking for things to do in Napa Valley after you have had your fill of wine, here is your Napa Valley summertime guide:

June
Celebrate Father’s day at an art and auto show in Yountville, an airshow in Napa, or enjoy a delicious BBQ at Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena.

This month is the second month of St. Helena’s Cameo Cinema yearlong 100th anniversary celebration. The Napa Valley has been the setting for many movies over time, including Walt Disney’s Pollyanna which you can enjoy under the stars at Lyman Park, courtesy of the Cameo.

If getting back to nature sounds like an appealing break from wine tasting, you could take a hike at the beautiful Bothe State Park to check out incredible Napa Valley views or have a private tour in the Napa Valley’s only non-profit horse rescue sanctuary, Sunrise HorseRescue.

June weather in the Napa Valley can range from drizzly and cold to 100 degree heat, so you’ll want to pack a variety of “California casual” clothes.

July
Celebrate Independence Day in true small-town style in with a Main Street parade in Calistoga and then enjoy a taste of American at the Napa County Fair. This Napa Valley tradition is everything you would expect from a small county fair – cotton candy, livestock, pig races, and a carnival culminating in spectacular fireworks display; a favorite Summer event of Napa Valley locals and visitors alike.
